LinkedIn Remakes Job Search Feature

LinkedIn will roll out a streamlined version of its job posting feature over the next few weeks that will include more granular search options, the company said today.

The move follows remakes of the social network’s home page and profiles last year.

The rejiggered search will allow users to search job openings at companies at which they have a connection through LinkedIn. Job seekers will also be able to hone job listings by country, ZIP code, industry and job function.

Users who pay for Job Seeker Premium subscriptions will additionally be able to delimit job searches by salary.

Yet, LinkedIn’s trouble with job listings in most fields isn’t too many but too few. For instance, a search for lawyer within 50 miles of a San Francisco ZIP code returned just seven results. LinkedIn has even fewer listings for blue-collar jobs.

The company’s Talent Solutions product for recruiters accounted for the biggest share of its revenue in 2012.
